Where do I even start trying to explain this one? As a photographer I am always looking for new and interesting ways to improve my skill set. One of those ways (and perhaps the greatest possible way) is to learn from other photographers. I had the opportunity to assist on a shoot for a highly sought after bay area wedding photographer, Ed Pingol. Ed is well known by other photographers for his innovative use of off camera lighting. He is also well known by his clients and peers for being an incredible photographer and an all around nice guy. I was very interested to work with Ed in an attempt to see with someone else's eyes...to see how he interacted with his clients and generally see the thought process involved in creating his images. I got the go ahead for the day and I jumped at the chance to go.
The couple, Denise and Benjo were both seasoned models...or at least it seemed that way. Ed made them very comfortable which allowed for some very romantic and dramatic images. The first location the couple chose was right by Children's Fairyland in Lake Merritt then we headed over to Middle Harbor Shoreline Park in Oakland. It was a great experience, Denise and Benjo were awesome. Best of luck with your wedding guys!
Thanks again to Ed...and I hope to have the opportunity to work with him again in the future.

Now check out my take on the day...here lol =)

The "light stick" makes an apperance with another photographer (Steve) doing the holding duties for this shot.
Point a camera at the guy and watch him come to life lol
Directing Denise and Benjo...pretty obvious where this is going
