Rachael & Andy: Engaged! - A Sunol Regional Park Engagement Session - Sunol, CA

They say that if you catch the bouquet (or the garter) at a wedding that means you will be the next to get married. I'm not sure if Andy knew it but his days were numbered when he caught the garter at my brother's wedding last November. Sure enough, just a few short weeks later I happened to see a facebook post with Andy's name tagged by Rachael that said, " I said yes!!" and I knew exactly what that meant. You did well, Andy. You did well.

Brief back-story. Andy is one of my brothers best friends and they have known each other since they were kids. They played on the same soccer team all the way through high school and they have remained friends all this time. It's certainly strange to think how times change because now "little" Andy is all grown up now and about to marry the girl of his dreams, Rachael. =)

Once officially engaged it became time to start planning their wedding and when the email hit my inbox from Rachael, I was excited. Their wedding will be in the fall of this year at one of the most beautiful venues around, Casa Real at Ruby Hill Winery. It's going to be an amazing time and I'm sure I will see a lot of familiar faces there as well. Last weekend we set out to take some engagement photos for Rachael & Andy at a location that was new to me, Sunol Regional Park. They wanted to incorporate a few things that they both loved like baseball...and their (tiny) little dog, Dexter. It was a fun session for me..like hanging out with old friends. They are so comfortable together and easy going it seemed like it was smiles and laughter the whole time! Looking forward to the wedding, guys! The Backer Family Ver 2.0 - A Session For Daddy - Danville Family Photographer, Danville, CA

Hey, the Backer Family is back! Last year I photographed this adorable family of 4 and this year they are back for more. =) This time it was a special session for Daddy so we focused on getting some updated photos of the kids and some special portraits of Dad with the kids. As a dad myself I can say that there are definitely not as many photos of my daughter and I as there are of my wife with my daughter. Obviously I take the majority of the pictures around here so I can definitely appreciate capturing these special photos for them. As cliche as it may sound, kids really do grow up so fast. The proof is in the pictures....if you check out their last session Bryce was just barely able to sit up on his own and now you can't stop him from running around and exploring the world. Ava is 3 and a half and looks about a foot taller than the last time I saw her. It's always nice to see families again and again so I certainly look forward to seeing these guys more! Bella Turns 5! - San Ramon Family Photography - San Ramon, CA

Well it would seem that I have been on somewhat of a blogging hiatus! I shot a bunch of sessions going into the holidays and I decided this year that I was going to keep from blogging them and posting them on facebook until after Christmas. That way, people's photos would be a surprise to their friends and family when their holiday cards arrived! It was a great idea but then actually going through and blogging those sessions suddenly became a huge task that I have yet to undertake. =)

The holidays came and went any suddenly it's March, almost spring time! Adorable little Bella just celebrated her 5th birthday about a week ago and we've been planning this session for a few months now. This is usually the time of year when all the cherry blossoms bloom and they really wanted to incorporate them somehow into the photos but if you have ever payed attention to these things they bloom for a short time and then, POOF! Gone. Basically, we had a short window of opportunity to include these beautiful trees into Bella's photos. I have been obsessing over finding a really good location that would help make her photos something extra special. I really love how these came out and I will be sure to keep this sweet little location in my back pocket for future use.

I have photographed Bella before with her family the last few years and she is complete ball of energy and lucky for me she thinks I am hilarious...so there are never any shortage of smiles. =) Please enjoy some of my favorite images from our session. Happy Birthday, Bella!
