Holiday Party - The Palm Event Center At Mitchell Katz Winery - Pleasanton, CA

These are just some detail photos of a holiday party I photographed last week at the beautiful Palm Event Center in Pleasanton. A beautiful venue in itself decorated to set a festive holiday mood. This is one of my favorite venues in the Bay Area. I shot an awesome wedding there earlier this year which you can check out here. Anyone planing a wedding or similar event should take note on how the things often overlooked (such as lighting) can really make a dramatic difference! Enjoy~

The Kings - Bay Area Family Photographer - Dublin, CA

Chris, Shannon, and Hailey. The Kings! I have been friends with Chris & Shannon for a long time. A looooooooong time. Their daughter Hailey is a cutie patootie and one of my favorite subjects to photograph. Who am I kidding she's one of my favorite subjects, period. =) She has graced the pages of this blog before (most recently,here) <-- but this time she brought her parents along for a quick holiday family photo session.(or was it the other way around?) Jason & Veronica - Engagement Session - 12/03/2009 - Livermore, CA

Jason and Veronica are engaged. Yep, it's true. Getting married too. Next October. Personally, that's my favorite time of year for a wedding. My personal wedding was on October 15th. The weather here in Northern California is still so beautiful that time of year and the fall colors are...well pretty awesome(see below). They already have a little mini family going on with their two awesome little dogs, Buster and Maeby, so it only made sense to include then in some of the photos. I'm a dog person so I'm all for it whenever people want to include them in their photos, whatever the occasion.

Originally we planned to do their engagement photos at a different location but when I saw this place this time of year I had a ton of ideas so we switched it up and I think everything came out great. Jason warned me up front that the only way he was going to smile naturally was if I could say something to make him laugh. I'm not going to mention here some of the things that were said trying to achieve this, but suffice to say we had some fun with it. =) If the engagement session was this much fun, I can't wait to see what's in store for the wedding. I know it's going to be a blast.

Happy Turkey Day

This photo was taken by yours truly a couple days ago looking out to my back yard. When people think of Thanksgiving, they think of turkey so I thought it was pretty funny that a giant pack of turkeys were going around squawking and gobbling door to door as if to say.... "how about a nice ham this year??" HAHA!

This year year I have so much to be thankful for. I'm thankful for all my wonderful family and friends that have supported us this year. It may sound cheesy but I truly am lucky to have these people in my life.

I am thankful as well for all my awesome clients. I have been so lucky to have the opportunity to work with such great people and to be able to do what I love on a daily basis is the greatest feeling.....ever.

I am very thankful for my beautiful wife who has also supported me tremendously this year as we venture into the world of unknown...sometimes known as parenthood. Yes, that's right, we are having a baby!

I am tremendously thankful for the continued good health of our unborn little GIRL(!) as she grows and changes. She's getting ready to enter this world and kick start the next chapter of our lives...and we cannot wait. What an amazing experience to add to an amazing year and for that, I am thankful.

The Sorensons - A Family Session - Danville, CA

OK so I lied. Not everybody in this picture is a Sorenson but in some way, shape, or form they are, were, or might some day be. Confused yet? Stay with me.
If you read my last post I mentioned I'm pretty bad with names. This may be my biggest challenge yet. Meet Terry, Jenny, Sheree, Alex, Amaya, Josh, Shandy, Lucas, Bredan, Jonathan, Precious, Emily, Nate, and Jen. Oh and how can I forget the dog, Ine(pronounced like "nine" without the "n"). This was a big group so I had my work cut out for me! My beautiful wife came along to help me keep track of everybody. She even took a picture or two. Three to be exact haha!

When I say this is the nicest family you will ever meet, I'm not kidding. They really are. I have known the Sorenson Family (as I call them) for quite some time and actually I used to work with Josh for several years at my previous job. I was excited to have the opportunity to photograph such a great family. We all headed out to good old Hap Magee Ranch Park in Danville to get some shots of the family..and all it's sub-families haha! Everybody did a great job and below as usual are some of my favorites from the day.
